INTRETINEREA SUFLETULUI...

Simbata.

Citeste…

Respond always to the convicting work of the Spirit, never allowing your heart to become insensitive to the truth of God.
Because of their sin nature, many unbelievers rebel against God and refuse to accept divine truth.
A pattern of refusal results in the heart being hardened, which was Pharaoh’s response to each of the first five plagues.

Exodus 7:13-22
(13) And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
(22) And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.

Exodus 8:15-32
(15) But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
(19) Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.
(32) And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.

Exodus 9:7
(7) And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

God then hardened Pharaoh’s heart after he had hardened his own heart against God.

Exodus 9:12
(12) And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.

Exodus 10:1-27
(1) And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
(20) But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
(27) But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.

Exodus 11:9-10
(9) And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
(10) And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Exodus 14:4-8
(4) And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
(8) And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

God’s hardening of Pharaoh simply confirmed what Pharaoh had already done in refusing to obey God. God’s hardening resulted in greater glory to Himself, for it demonstrated the Lord’s superiority over Pharaoh.

Romans 9:17
(17) For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

A special line of this truth is related to Israel. Paul wrote in Romans 11:7–10 that Israel’s lack of comprehension of divine truth led them into hardening against further revelation. As a result, Gentiles in the present age have taken over a large portion of God’s present purposes in the church. Yet Israel’s blindness or hardening is for a time and is only partial.

Romans 11:25-27
(25) For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
(26) And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
(27) For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

However, at the Rapture there will be a special deliverance of Israel from their blindness with the result that many will come to Christ and believe the gospel. The lesson from this is that in order to understand God’s truth, we must accept and respond to what He has previously revealed. This then becomes a stepping-stone to understanding more truth. In contrast to those who are hardened and do not receive the truth, those who accept Christ are enlightened by God’s truth.

Respond always to the convicting work of the Spirit, never allowing your heart to become insensitive to the truth of God.
